Sports speaker Usain Bolt, or “Lightening Bolt”, is widely regarded as the fastest man to ever run on this planet. The Jamaican native’s potential was discovered at a young age. Growing up playing sports like Cricket and Football, Bolt’s teammates and coaches noticed his natural speed and athleticism, which led his Cricket coach to sign him up for track and field events at his high school.  He quickly became the school’s fastest runner in the 100-meter distance and former Olympic sprinter, Pablo McNeil, along with former NFL player Dwayne Jarrett, began coaching the up and coming talent.  After dominating the high school scene, Bolt went on to compete in Caribbean regional events, representing Jamaica, then International events beginning in 2002.  By 2004, the small town Jamaican boy had turned professional, and was on his way to his first Olympics.  However, his performance at the 2004 games in Athens was hindered by a hamstring injury, which resulted in his elimination in the first round of the 200-meters.  Despite the disappointing performance in 2004, Bolt came back to take the world by storm in 2008 winning the 100 and 200-meter events in Beijing, as well as the 4×100-meter relay. He again captivated audiences around the world at the 2012 games winning both the 100 and 200-meters again, making him the first man in history to defend both Olympic sprint titles. To add to his accomplishments, he was on Jamaica’s gold medal-winning 4×100-meter relay, which also broke the world record. Over the course of two Olympics, Bolt had won six gold medals in his respective sprinting events, making him the first man in track and field to ever achieve this feat.

In addition to his track and field success, Usain Bolt enjoys playing many sports such as cricket, soccer, and basketball, and has participated in charity cricket tournaments, as well as the NBA All-Star Weekend Celebrity Game.  He has also received many endorsements from the likes of Puma and Gatorade as a result of his success, and has worked with RockLive to launch his own game for Apple iOS titled Bolt! Additionally, he has an autobiography, My Story: 9.58: Being the World’s Fastest Man, which was released in 2010.
