Two-sport phenom Tony Gonzalez has been in the athletic spotlight his entire life. Once one season ended the next would begin right away. His dedication and work ethic to both sports gave him the skills to play basketball and football every year and at high levels. Because of his play in the NFL Tony will now offer his experience and knowledge as an analyst for CBS in 2014 on The NFL Today.

Sports speaker Tony Gonzalez grew up in California where he played both basketball and football in high school. He received a scholarship to the University of California at Berkeley where he would attend and play both sports. It was easy to see that Tony would have no other option but to pick one of the two sports and after long thought he chose football. At Cal Tony would be able to play under Steve Mariucci. Mariucci helped to develop Tony into the perennial star he is today. Tony entered in the 1997 NFL draft and was selected 13th overall by the Kansas City Chiefs. During his time with the Chiefs Tony was everything to the city and its fans. He set many records and solidified his position as one of the most sure handed receivers/tight-ends to ever play in the league. Tony ended his career playing with the Atlanta Falcons under head coach Mike Smith. He currently holds the NFL records for most receptions and receiving yards by a tight end. Tony is a 14x Pro-Bowl selection 10x All-Pro, and made the NFL’s 2000 All-Decade list. This small list of accomplishments shows some of the things he has done, but can never show his full contribution to the game.

Because Tony wanted to live a healthier lifestyle he and Mitzi Dunn, former chiefs nutritionist, changed his eating habits. Together they co-authored a book on healthy living; The All-Pro Diet. The book thoroughly explains Tony’s strenuous workout and healthy diet. Just a year later in 2009 Tony launched All-Pro Science, a sports nutrition company that specializes in protein, vitamins, and other supplements.
