Roger Federer is a Swiss professional tennis player who is widely regarded as one of the best tennis players of all time. Federer owns several men’s world records for his accomplishments. He held the world No. 1 position for 302 weeks overall, including a 237-consecutive-week stretch at the top from 2004 to 2008. Federer has also won an incredible 17 Grand Slam singles titles.

In 2003, Sports Speaker Federer won his first Grand Slam singles title at Wimbledon; he also won seven finals on the ATP tour. He finished the year as world No.2, barely behind Andy Roddick.  The next year, Federer won an amazing three Grand Slam singles titles, becoming the first person to do this since 1988. In 2006, Federer again won three Grand Slam singles titles; he became the first man to reach all four finals in a calendar year since 1969. In 2007, Federer finished No.1 in the world for the fourth year in a row, and from 2003-2007Federer had won 11 Grand Slam singles titles. Two years later, he completed a career Grand Slam by winning his first French Open title. Federer holds an abundance of records, including becoming the first ever men’s singles player to have reached 10 consecutive Grand slam finals and a total of 24 Grand Slam finals; he also holds the record for the most Grand Slam titles of any player.

Federer holds ten endorsements deals, including deals with Nike, Rolex, Gillette, NetJets, and Mercedes-Benz. He has been named to Forbes’ top 100 celebrities list, as well as Forbes’ highest paid athletes list. Federer contributes to a number of charities; he is an ambassador for UNICEF and established the Roger Federer Foundation to help disadvantaged people. In 2010, Federer arranged a special charity event with other tennis stars called Hit for Haiti, which benefitted victims of the Haiti earthquake. During the same year, Federer received a Young Global Leader award from the World Economic Forum for his leadership and contributions to society.
