Biography:

Randy Couture is an actor and former UFC champion. Over the span of his career, Couture won three UFC Heavyweight Championships, two UFC Light Heavyweight Championships, an interim UFC Light Heavyweight Champion, and a UFC  13 Heavyweight Tournament. He is one of only two fighters to hold two UFC championship titles in two different divisions. Couture also holds the most title reigns in the UFC with five, and he is tied for third all-time in UFC victories. In 2006, Couture became the fourth inductee into the UFC Hall of Fame.

In only his first year as professional mixed martial arts in 1997, Sports Speaker Randy Couture amazingly won both the UFC 13 Heavyweight Tournament and UFC Heavyweight Championship. Three years later, Couture won the UFC Heavyweight Championship again, defeating Kevin Randleman in the third round of the finals with a full mount assault. In 2001, Couture defended his championship against Pedro Rizzo; this fight was named the Fight of the Year. 2003 was a huge year for Couture, winning the UFC Light Heavyweight Championship in a unanimous victory over Hall-of-Famer Tito Ortiz. By the end of his career, Couture had accumulated five championships and 19 victories in UFC.

Since retiring, Couture has had a prolific acting career, starring in the film Setup with Bruce Willis, The Scorpion King 2: Rise of a Warrior, and Hijacked with Dominic Purcell. He has also appeared on the TV shows The Unit, Redbelt, and the Human Weapon. Couture is dedicated to honoring the veterans of America’s Armed Forces through his foundation, the Xtreme Couture GI Foundation. In 2008, Couture released his autobiography, Becoming the Natural: My Life In and Out of the Cage, which covers everything from Couture’s childhood spent in search of a father figure to his victory over five-time defending champion Tito Ortiz for the light heavyweight title.
