New York Giants Wide Receiver and Sports Speaker Odell Beckham Jr. has a mile-long list of accolades and his career is just beginning! The stand-out receiver from LSU is best known for his acrobatic and awe-inspiring catches, most specifically his miraculous one-handed grab against the Dallas Cowboys in November of 2014. In May of 2015, it was announced that Odell would grace the cover of popular NFL video game Madden 16, beating out New England Patriots Wide Receiver Rob Gronkowski in an online vote. At 22 years of age, Odell became Madden’s youngest cover athlete in the game’s history.

Sports Speaker Odell Beckham Jr. began his illustrious football career at LSU and quickly started adding to his list of accolades by making the SEC All-Freshman Team. He followed up his freshman year with a strong sophomore performance, finishing with a team-high 713 receiving yards. Odell’s junior season in 2013 was his most successful in college which saw him earn First Team All-SEC and 3rd Team All-American honors. Odell also received the 2013 Paul Hornung Award, awarded to the nation’s most versatile player. Following the season, Odell declared for the 2014 NFL Draft where he was selected as the 12th overall pick by the New York Giants.

A hamstring injury sidelined Odell for the first four games of his rookie season. Refusing to let the injury damper his season, Odell grabbed his first NFL touchdown in his pro debut in an October contest against the Atlanta Falcons. Later on in the season Odell became a household name after grabbing 10 receptions for 146 yards, 2 touchdowns, and his infamous catch in a Sunday Night Football game vs. the Cowboys. Falling backwards and into the end zone, Odell made a one-handed catch with what seemed to be only three of his fingers. Replays of his catch became an internet sensation overnight with many NFL analysts and players claiming the catch as the greatest they had ever seen. In his incredible rookie year, Odell set a ridiculous list of Giants franchise and NFL records, including the most receiving yards for a rookie in Giants history and becoming the only rookie in NFL history to have multiple games (Odell had four!) with 10+ catches, 125+ yards, and 1+ touchdown. At the seasons conclusion Odell won the NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year award and was also-selected to play in the Pro-Bowl.

Sports Speaker Odell Beckham Jr. has also made an impact off of the field. In December of 2014, Odell made an appearance at the Poughkeepsie Galleria in Pennsylvania to sign autographs and take pictures for which proceeds went to benefit St. Jude’s Children Research Hospital.
