The future is looking quite grand for one of major league baseball’s brightest young stars. Mike Trout of the Anaheim Angels may be only 22 years old but in just 4 years in the majors, he has been selected to the All-Star team twice and also won the Silver Slugger Award in 2012 and 2013. With incredible athletic ability in the outfield and a powerful bat, Mike is helping to rebuild a struggling Angels organization that hopes to return to championship form and become a perennial playoff team once more.

Sports speaker Mike Trout began his journey to the MLB playing for an Angels minor league affiliate in Arizona. Coming up in the minors he was already beginning to stand out and at the end of the 2010 season he was ranked #1 on ESPN’s top 100 prospects list. Mike moved up through the organization and made his major league debut in July of 2011. Since then Trout has broken Angel’s records for crossing the place in 14 consecutive games and recording the most steals by a rookie in a season with 26. In 2012, Trout’s true rookie season, he was awarded the Jackie Robinson Rookie of the Year award as well as a Silver Slugger Award. Trout did so well that season that he was wedged in an extremely tight race with Miguel Cabrera for the MVP although Cabrera would eventually win.

Away from the diamond Trout has worked hand in hand with former major leaguer Chris Singleton’s charity foundation. Fans have the opportunity to purchase raffle tickets and the winner will have the full “Mike Trout Experience” which includes meeting him on the field before a game. The proceeds go to help inner city youth as well as combating human trafficking and providing clean water to countries in need worldwide.
