Mark Ingram has always been in the spotlight as a player whether it was in high school, during his collegiate career, or even now as a running back for the New Orleans Saints. Despite playing behind Glen Coffee his freshman year at the University of Alabama, Sports Speaker Mark put up incredible statistics scoring 12 touchdowns and being named to the SEC All Freshman Team in 2008. Coming from a football oriented family, Mark had the ability to learn about the game before most other kids. His father, Mark Ingram Sr., was an NFL wide receiver from 1987-1996. He taught his son everything he knew about the game which instilled a drive in Mark at a young age to pursue his own football dreams.

He did so well his sophomore year in college he received the coveted Heisman Trophy in 2009, given to the best player in the NCAA. He was the first Alabama player to ever win this award and was the youngest player to win it before Jameis Winston took over that title in 2013. That same season he would take his team to the National Championship game vs. the University of Texas. Mark dominated the game scoring 2 touchdowns and rushing for 116 yards to lead the team to the national title. Following a junior season that was marred by injury, Mark declared for the NFL draft and was selected 28th overall by the Saints in 2011. Mark has settled in well with a Saints organization that boasts a stout roster including Pro-Bowler Drew Brees as quarterback and arguably the best tight end in the game Jimmy Graham.

After entering the NFL he started the Mark Ingram Foundation in order to support the kids going through the same thing he did as a child growing up with incarcerated parents. He has been continuously praised for his efforts in bettering the lives of many children in his community.
