Lisa Leslie is a former WNBA star center. She is a two-time WNBA champion and a four-time Olympic gold medal champion. She also won three WNBA MVP awards and was named All-WNBA First Team eight times. Leslie became the first player ever to win the regular season MVP, All-Star Game MVP, and WNBA playoff MVP in the same season. Leslie is often considered one of the best WNBA players of all-time.

Sports Speaker Leslie was a tremendous player in college, averaging 20.1 points and setting the Pac-10 conference records for scoring, rebounding, and blocked shots. During her college career, the University of Southern California posted a dominating 89-31 record overall. Recognized for her talent and leadership, Leslie was named an All-American three times; she was also unanimously voted the National Player of the Year during her final season.

After joining the Los Angeles Sparks, Leslie led her team to five consecutive playoff appearances and a WNBA title in 2001. The following year, Leslie remarkably led the Sparks to their second straight championship. In addition, she became the first woman to dunk in a WNBA game during this season. In 2009, Leslie became the first player to score 6,000 points in a career. When she retired, Leslie held the league records for points and rebounds.

Before playing her final season with the Sparks, Leslie released her autobiography Don’t Let the Lipstick Fool You. In addition to writing this book, she has done modeling work for Armani, Tommy Hilfiger, and Wilhelmina modeling. Since her retirement, Leslie has worked as a sports commentator for various networks, including ABC and NBC. She has also been featured in Vogue, Newsweek, and a number of sports publications. She is currently one of the Sparks’ owners and proudly runs the Lisa Leslie Basketball and Leadership Academy in California.
