Sports Speaker Lexi Thompson is proof that age isn’t anything but a number. Lexi is a young professional golfer who plays on the LPGA Tour.

Lexi’s career took off after she became the youngest golfer in history to ever play in the U.S. Women’s Open in 2007. When she won the Aldila Junior Classic, she earned the title of being the second youngest AJGA winner. In 2008, Lexi played in her second U.S. Women’s Open and won her only USGA championship, making her the second-youngest winner in that tournament as well.

After playing for the American team in the 2010 Curtis Cup, she decided she would follow her brother Nicholas Thompson’s footsteps and take a swing as a professional golfer. She signed with Cobra-PUMA Golf and Red Bull finishing runner-up at the Evian Masters and was even listed in the top 100 Women’s World Golf Rankings.

She gradually began playing one-day tournaments on the Fuzion Minor League Golf Tour and in 2011 Lexi set a new record for being the youngest winner of an LPGA tournament. She also won the Navistar LPGA Classic and became the second youngest winner of a Ladies European Tour event. After this win, she was granted LPGA membership for 2012.

Most recently, Lexi received her first major win and fourth career LPGA win at the 2014 Kraft Nabisco Championship. This victory made her the second-youngest women’s major winner in the history of golf.

When Lexi isn’t on tour, she enjoys spending her time bowling strikes and listening to music. She has also appeared in numerous magazines such as Golf Digest, Golf Week and Golf World.

Lexi’s professional career is only just beginning. With her competitive drive and dedication to the sport, it comes as no shock that Sports Speaker Lexi Thompson is golf’s next biggest star.
