Sports Speaker Jordyn Wieber is one of the most polished athletes in the sports realm today, and she has proved herself to be one tough cookie and a humble competitor. After failing to qualify for the individual competition at the 2012 London Olympics, she went on to help the women’s artistic gymnastics team, now known as the Fierce Five, to win the team gold. She performed consistently throughout the Games and also placed seventh on the floor exercise in the finals, even though she later revealed she had been competing with a stress fracture in her right leg. Before the Olympics, Jordyn was the reigning all-around World Champion after a stellar performance in Tokyo, Japan.

Since then, Jordyn has made several appearances with the gymnasts known as the Fierce Five which also includes Gabby Douglas, McKayla Maroney, Aly Raisman and Kyla Ross. The gynasts toured the country on the Kellogg’s Tour of Gymnastics Champions following the Olympics, and were also present at the 2012 MTV Video Music Awards. Jordyn has also made television appearances with her teammates on LIVE! with Kelly & Michael, Access Hollywood, Good Morning America, Anderson Cooper 360, the Late Show with David Letterman, and the Colbert Report. In July 2012, the Fierce Five became the first gymnastics team to ever be featured on the cover of Sports Illustrated in their Olympic Preview issue.

After her success at the Olympics, Jordyn continues to show that she is just as graceful and classy outside of the gymnastics world, which has made her highly sought after as a professional athlete. In 2013, she landed a sponsorship from Adidas, and also has been endorsed by Procter and Gamble (which includes brands COVERGIRL, Head & Shoulders, Olay, and Venus), AT&T, and Kellogg’s. Her most recent deal is with MVolt, a power solutions and accessories brand, in order to kick off their upcoming campaign entitled “Hardwork, Perfection, and Quality,” all of which perfectly describe Wieber. She is also currently a student at UCLA, where she plans to major in psychology and also serves as the Team Manager for the gymnastics team. No doubt this is only the beginning for Jordyn.
