Sports Speaker John Elway has always had winning on his mind. From high school to his NFL career John’s passion for football kept him working hard and always looking out for whoever could possibly be coming for his top spot. With a strong work ethic and dual threat quarterback skills, Elway will go down in history as one of the greatest football players to ever play in the NFL.

John Elway grew up around the game of football. When he was still in high school his father became the head coach at Cal State-Northridge giving him the opportunity to learn how the college game works earlier than many kids his age. That put him at a serious advantage over those playing the same position as him. John was recruited heavily by many schools and received over 60 scholarship offers. He eventually chose Stanford University and went there as a two sport athlete playing football and baseball. He planned to make an immediate impact in whatever way he could. During his college career he excelled and thus earned All-American honors. After his junior year John was drafted by the New York Yankees and actually played for their minor league team during the summer before his senior year. In 1983 John entered the NFL draft where he was chosen by the Baltimore Colts with the number one pick. John was later traded to the Denver Broncos where he would begin his winning streak. With the Broncos John won two Superbowls, one Superbowl MVP, was selected to the pro-bowl 9 times, and won an NFL MVP award. This is just a small list of achievements John Elway reached during his illustrious career in the NFL.

After his retirement John began his work as a business executive. He owns a few car dealerships across the country, restaurants, and was the co-owner of an AFL franchise. John is the spokesperson for opensports.com and after receiving LASIK eye surgery endorsed the icon LASIK out in Denver. He currently is the vice-president of football operations for the Denver Broncos.
