Motivational Speaker Joe Morgan is a former 2nd baseman in the MLB who has been a home run as an Emmy Award winning TV and radio analyst. Joe was a member of the dreaded Big Red Machine for the Cincinnati Reds during the 1970’s. The Reds dynasty consisted of future Hall of Famers Johnny Bench, Pete Rose and Tony Perez to name a few. Joe helped the team win back-to-back World Series in 1975 and 1976 and was the National League MVP in both seasons. After a brilliant playing career, Motivational Speaker Joe Morgan has been a hit as a baseball analyst for ESPN’s broadcast of MLB games. Joe has since returned to Cincinnati to work as a Senior Advisor in the team’s front office.

Joe was originally signed out of high school by the Houston Astros. He spent his first 9 seasons in the MLB with the team before being traded to the Reds in 1971. He hit his stride in Cincinnati racking up 5 Gold Glove Awards at 2nd base and appearing in the All-Star Game all 8 seasons with the team. He will always be remembered for his game winning hit in game 7 of the 1975 World Series to bring home the first of 2 World Series titles for the Big Red Machine. Joe played for the San Francisco Giants and Philadelphia Phillies before retiring with the Oakland Athletics in 1984. He was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 1990.

Many publications and historians have touted Joe Morgan as the best 2nd baseman in MLB history. He began his broadcasting career working for the Reds in 1985. For the next 3 years he also helped called college baseball games for ESPN. Joe has a great voice for TV and radio. He also enjoyed stints as a baseball analyst for ABC Sports and NBC Sports. He was on hand at Candlestick Park calling a Giants game when the Loma Prieta earthquake shook San Francisco and surrounding areas.
