Jeff Saturday is a retired NFL center who played for the Indianapolis Colts and the Green Bay Packers. In his 13 seasons for the Colts, Saturday won a Super Bowl and was selected to four All-Pro teams and five Pro Bowls.  As a member of the Executive Committee of the National Football League Players’ Association, he helped complete the 2011 Collective Bargaining Agreement between the NFL and NFLPA.

While Saturday was a first-team All-ACC selection at center in 1996 and 1997 with the University of North Carolina, he was not drafted in the NFL due to concerns that he was undersized. After working as a manager at an electrical supply store, Saturday was signed as a free agent by the Indianapolis Colts in 1999. By 2000, Saturday was starting all 16 regular season games, and Saturday finished his career as the Colt’s starting center for 12 straight seasons. Under Saturday’s leadership, the Colts’ offensive line gave up the fewest quarterback sacks among all NFL teams in 2004, 2005, and 2006. In 2007’s AFC Championship win, Saturday recovered a teammate’s fumble in the end zone and provided a key block for the game-winning touchdown run. The Colts went on to win the Super Bowl two weeks later.

Sports Speaker Jeff Saturday serves on the board of the Sharon Bassett Foundation, which helps families in Illinois and Indiana living with breast cancer. Saturday is also an active spokesperson for the People Burn Foundation, Kids’ Voice, and the Riley Hospital for Children. Saturday became a Christian after a Bible study meeting led him to reconsider his identity as an individual. He was featured in a 2012 Power to Win DVD, which features testimonies from NFL players who are Christian believers.
