In terms of versatility and basketball knowledge, there are few NBA players who matched the abilities of the great Jason Kidd.  Kidd dominated the league with his size as a guard, nifty ball handling skills, and artistic style of passing.  During his time in the NBA as a player, Kidd manned the helm for 4 different NBA teams.  Throughout his career he was considered one of the greatest players in the league at any position, and will eventually be inducted into the NBA Hall of Fame.

Sports Speaker Jason was selected 2nd overall in the 1994 NBA Draft by the Dallas Mavericks out of the University of California.  Kidd immediately asserted himself as on of the league’s top point guards and was named the 1995 NBA Rookie of the Year.  Kidd was later traded to Phoenix for 5 seasons where he turned into a perennial All-Star.  In 2001, Kidd was traded again to the New Jersey Nets.  With Kidd’s presence, the Nets turned into the best team in the Eastern Conference for the early-mid 2000’s.  Kidd became known for his unique ability to record triple-doubles (double digits in three statistical categories in a single game) recording 107 throughout his career.  Kidd spent 7 seasons with the Nets before he was traded to the Dallas Mavericks in 2008.  He spent 4 seasons with the Mavericks eventually culminating Kidd’s only NBA Championship in 2011.  His playing career ended in 2013, 2nd all-time in assists, with the New York Knicks after 19 seasons in the NBA.  His career accomplishments include 10 All Star Game appearances and 5 All-NBA First Team Selections to go along with his 2011 NBA Championship.  In addition, Kidd also earned gold medals in the 2000 Sydney and 2008 Beijing Olympics.

Jason Kidd is also the head of the Jason Kidd Foundation which aims to benefit youth education and positive influence towards youth.  In 2013 Jason Kidd was named the Head Coach of the Brooklyn Nets, and is now the current Head Coach of the Milwaukee Bucks.
