Biography:

To many, Sports Motivational Speaker Jack Nicklaus is known as the greatest golfer in PGA Tour history. He has earned his place amongst golf’s best not only because of his record-setting 18 Major Championship victories but also because of the impact he has had on the sport as a whole. A true student of the game, Jack excelled as a player from 1960 until his official retirement in 2005. He now owns and operates one of the largest golf course design firms in the world that has designed courses such as Harbour Town Golf Links and The Greenbrier. In addition to his talents as a golfer and course designer, Jack has expanded his personal brand to include a signature line of wines, eyewear and apparel among other endeavors. In 2015, Jack introduced a new line of signature Golden Bear ice cream flavors with a portion of the proceeds being donated to chosen children’s charities.

His on-course rivalry with the likes of fellow PGA legends Arnold Palmer and Gary Player made for some incredibly entertaining tournaments during his time on tour. Jack broke onto the PGA scene in 1961 following a runner up finish as an amateur behind Palmer at the 1960 U.S. Open. At just 22-years-old, he would beat Palmer in a playoff to capture the 1962 U.S. Open title and take home his first career and major tournament victory. This was only the beginning of a Nicklaus-Palmer rivalry that was responsible for a dramatic increase in viewership for televised golf tournaments following the 1962 U.S. Open.

In 1965 and 1966, Jack became the first consecutive winner of the Masters Tournament as well as the youngest winner to accomplish the feat. He would go on to win a total of 73 PGA tour events in his career not including his 10 wins on the Senior PGA Tour. His last major victory came at the 1986 Masters in dramatic fashion. At the age of 46, Jack fired a final round of 65 with an impressive 7-under streak on the back nine to become the oldest winner in Masters Tournament history.

As a devout family man, Sports Motivational Speaker Jack has made it one of his life goals to use his fame and lucrative career to help others. He founded the Nicklaus Children’s Health Care Foundation in 2004 and proceeds from his annual PGA Tour Memorial Tournament go to help support the foundation’s initiatives.

Sports Motivational Speaker Jack Nicklaus sat atop the list of Golf Inc.’s Most Powerful People in Golf for a record-setting 6 straight years for his contributions and lucrative business endeavors. He is currently ranked #4 on the annual list.
