Sports Motivational Speaker Eric Dickerson, also known as Mr. Fourth Quarter, is a retired Hall of Fame running back who spent 11 seasons in the NFL. He was a standout star in the college ranks for Southern Methodist University (SMU), running alongside Craig James creating the dynamic rushing attack fondly known as the Pony Express. In just his second year in the NFL with the Los Angeles Rams, Eric torched the record books setting the record for most rushing yards (2,105) and most 100-yard rushing games (12) in a season. Following his Hall of Fame NFL career, Eric worked as a broadcaster in Los Angeles providing pre-game and post-game analysis. He now travels the country motivating others as a keynote speaker for fundraising events, fitness expos, corporate conferences and more.

Sports Motivational Speaker Eric Dickerson originally committed to Texas A&M University before listening to his family’s advice and staying close to home at SMU. He set school and conference records for yards gained and attempts in addition to tying the SMU record for career touchdowns with 48. In 1982, Eric finished third in the Heisman voting behind John Elway and Herschel Walker despite splitting time with Craig James.

Eric Dickerson was the 2nd overall pick in the 1983 NFL Draft by the Los Angeles Rams. During his rookie season, he set several rookie records for the most rushing attempts (390), most rushing yards gained (1,808) and most rushing touchdowns (18). That year he earned a trip to his first Pro Bowl and was named the NFL’s Rookie of the Year.

He would go on to become a 6-time Pro Bowler and finished his career as the league’s 2nd all-time rusher. He is currently the 7th all-time leading rusher in NFL history. After 5 seasons with the Rams, Sports Motivational Speaker Eric Dickerson spent 5 more successful seasons with the Indianapolis Colts before ending his career with the Atlanta Falcons in 1993. His #29 jersey has since been retired by the Rams and he was inducted into the Indianapolis Colts Ring of Honor in 2013.

Eric has since founded the Eric Dickerson Foundation with a goal to instill important values of leadership, perseverance and the importance of giving back in today’s youth through sports camps and other community functions.
