Major League Baseball player and Sports Speaker Dustin Pedroia is a second baseman for the Boston Red Sox and has been a part of the heart and soul of the organization since he arrived in the big leagues. He made his first appearance for the Red Sox in 2006 and has stuck with them throughout his professional career.

In 2004, the Red Sox drafted Dustin in the second round. He became the regular second baseman in 2007 when he replaced Mark Loretta. During the World Series, he became the second player and the first rookie to lead off the Series with a home run. By the end of the season, he took home the American League Rookie of the Year Award and was selected to the Topps Major League Rookie All-Star Team.

The following season, Dustin led the league in runs scored, doubles and home runs, making him the first player to ever lead all three categories in the same season. Not only is he the tenth player to capture the American League MVP in the history of the Red Sox, but also the eighth to win the MVP Gold Glove and Silver Slugger in the same season as well.

Dustin achieved his first career multi-home run game in 2009 against the Baltimore Orioles and went five for five with five RBI and three home runs in 2010 against the Colorado Rockies. The next season, he had a twenty-five game hitting streak, making him the longest for a Boston Red Sox baseman. He was awarded the Fielding Bible Award in 2011 as the best fielding second baseman in the league and in 2014; Dustin hit a grand slam, making it his 100th career home run. He was the third Red Sox player ever to do so.

Dustin was featured as the cover athlete of the baseball video game MLB 09: The Show and appeared in several commercials. He was also featured on the cover of Sports Illustrated. Most recently, Dustin published his book, Born to Play: My Life in the Game.
