Sports Speaker Dottie Pepper is a former pro golfer on the LPGA Tour who later found a home broadcasting major golf events for the Golf Channel. After spending some time away from the game, Dottie signed a new contract as a featured golf analyst with ESPN in 2013. She is utilized as an in-studio host as well as on-course correspondent for major golf events on the PGA and LPGA Tour.

Dottie was a fierce competitor who brought some serious flair to the LPGA Tour when she first hit the scene in 1988. She won 17 total tournaments on the LPGA Tour before lasting injuries forced her to retire in 2004. She won her first tournament, the Oldsmobile LPGA Classic, in a sudden death playoff in just her second year on tour in 1989.

Her first major victory came at the 1992 Nabisco Dinah Shore where she again won in a sudden death playoff this time against Hall of Famer Juli Inkster. 1992 was a huge year for Sports Speaker Dottie Pepper taking home 4 wins that year. She finished atop the LPGA Tour money list, was named LPGA Tour Player of the Year and was awarded the Best Female Golfer Award at the ESPYs in 1993.

Following her retirement in 2004, Sports Speaker Dottie Pepper joined the commentators both at NBC and the Golf Channel. She covered men’s and women’s events before being named the as an assistant captain for the women’s U.S. Team at the 2013 Solheim Cup. She has since began work as a board member for the PGA of America helping to promote the sport amongst today’s youth.

Dottie cares greatly about nurturing today’s youth. She has written a series of children’s books following Bogey Balton and his quest to join the golf tour. The first book, Bogey Tees Off Vol. 1 released in 2012 and the second volume in the series released in 2014.

Sports Speaker Dottie Pepper has used golf as a platform to teach children and parents about the lasting effects of bullying.
