Sports Speaker Derrick Brooks was drafted by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers with the 28th overall pick in the 1995 NFL Draft.  Brooks instantly became one of the best linebackers in the NFL, and never missed a single game in his 14-year NFL career.  By his 3rd season, Brooks became a Pro-Bowl selection and that began a streak of 10-consecutive selections to the NFL’s all-star game.  The pinnacle of Brooks’ career came in 2002.  He was named the 2002 Defensive Player of the Year by the Associated Press and led the Tampa Bay Buccaneers to victory in Super Bowl XXXVII, the only one in franchise history.  After 14 years with the Buccaneers, Derrick Brooks retired.  His on-field accomplishments include 11 Pro Bowls and 9 All-Pro Selections—and he was elected into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2014.
