Basketball Motivational Speaker Christian Laettner is an iconic sports figure and former NBA player. His game winning shot in the 1992 NCAA Tournament for the Duke Blue Devils has gone down as one of the greatest plays in NCAA basketball history. He helped lead the Blue Devils to 2 National Championships in 1991 and 1992 with help from Bobby Hurley and Grant Hill. In 2015, ESPN’s 30 for 30 documentary series premiered a special documentary titled I Hate Christian Laettner that detailed the monumental shot and subsequent scorn from rivals of the Duke Blue Devils. In addition to the new documentary on his life and career, Christian recently appeared in a TV commercial campaign for AT&T that aired during the 2015 NCAA Tournament. He was also on hand to host the official NCAA Experience VIP pregame parties during the Final Four and the National Championship game in Indianapolis, Indiana.

Christian was a prized recruit out of high school and played his college ball under legendary Duke coach Mike Krzyzewski. He is the only player ever to start in 4 straight Final Fours having made it all 4 years of his college career. After winning his first National Championship in 1991, Christian was named the NCAA Final Four Most Outstanding Player. The following year he was named the national college player of the year. His MVP performance during the 1992 season earned him a spot on the 1992 Olympic team that eventually became known as the Dream Team. Playing with the likes of Michael Jordan, Larry Bird and Magic Johnson, Christian was the only college player selected to the Olympic team that year.

After a stellar college career, Christian played for 13 seasons in the NBA with 6 different teams most notably the Minnesota Timberwolves and the Atlanta Hawks. Even though his basketball skills had earned him a professional career, he had other plans for his future. He founded his own real estate agency, Blue Devil Ventures, in 1995 with some fellow Duke alumni. In 2007, Christian and his partner Brian Davis became part owners of the D.C. United MLS team. But he’s never lost his love for the game.

Basketball Motivational Speaker Christian Laettner owns and operates his own basketball academy that travels to different cities across the U.S. each year.
