Biography:

Very few can match the unbridled intensity that Sports Motivational Speaker Brian Bosworth brought to the game of football during the 1980’s. Known simply as The Boz, he was a spectacle on and off the field with his ferocious hits, radical wardrobe, funky hairstyles and outspoken personality. Brian was inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame in 2015 and now travels the country as a motivational keynote speaker for corporate events.

Sports Motivational Speaker Brian Bosworth is widely regarded as one of the greatest middle linebackers in college football history, having been the only player to win the Dick Butkus Award more than once. He was a 2-time All-American and helped the Oklahoma Sooners claim the National Championship in 1987. Brian is 1 of only 9 linebackers who to be named to Sports Illustrated’s NCAA Football All-Century Team.

Brian lived life out loud during college, and his wild ways continued into the pros. He sent letters to pro teams he didn’t want to be drafted by and was ultimately chosen by one of them, the Seattle Seahawks in the first round of the 1987 Supplemental Draft. After a holdout, he ended up signing the largest rookie contract in the NFL to date. But after just 2 seasons, Brian was forced to retire due to a nagging shoulder injury.

In 1988, Brian published an autobiography following his college career entitle The Boz: Confessions of a Modern Anti-Hero, co-written with Sport’s Illustrated’s Rick Reilly highlighting his endeavors during his tenure with the Sooners. He will be the first to tell you that he got caught up in himself and this persona he had created. He now uses his stories of arrogance and past mistakes as negative examples to help audiences understand the importance of your actions.

Following the end of his football career, Brian took his talents to Hollywood, starring in a few movies such as Stone Cold, One Man’s Justice, and The Longest Yard. In 2014, he was the feature of one of the highly-praised ESPN 30 for 30 documentaries, Brian and the Boz. The documentary highlights his strained relationship with his father and the wild persona he struggled with on and off the field. His credits his faith as a saving grace for him and allowing him to finally accept the man he was and can be.
