Biography:

Sports Motivational Speaker Archie Manning is a former NFL quarterback and father to future NFL Hall of Famer’s Peyton and Eli Manning. He also has a third son Cooper who was diagnosed with spinal stenosis in high school and was unable to pursue a career in professional football. A Mississippi native, Archie played a majority of his NFL career with the New Orleans Saints before playing for the Houston Oilers and eventually ending his playing career with the Minnesota Vikings in 1984.

Sports Motivational Speaker Archie Manning was a multi-sport athlete in high school and was drafted in the MLB Draft 4 times before committing to play football at Ole Miss. He was the second overall pick in the 1971 NFL Draft by the Saints. Archie was a victim of poor team building in the 1970’s as the Saints suffered through 9 losing seasons. He regularly led the NFC in passing yards but the team was unable to build any momentum come playoff time. Archie was known as one of the good guys in the league, a class act on and off the field who was never quick to criticize his teammates or team management.

Since his days on the field, Sports Motivational Speaker Archie Manning has worked as a college football analyst for CSB Sports and as a corporate spokesperson for brands including UPS. Along with his sons, he also hosts the Manning Passing Academy for kids each summer. In 2013, Archie was chosen as one of the inaugural members of The College Football Playoff Committee charged with determining the top 4 teams to compete in The College Football Playoff each year. He also owns his own restaurant called Manning’s that is unsurprisingly one of the top hotspots to catch a game on Sundays in New Orleans.
