With 951 receptions, professional football player and sports speaker Andre Reed is ranked tenth overall in NFL history for total career receptions. Reed began his remarkable career in 1985 when he was drafted by the Buffalo Bills in the fourth round of the NFL draft, being picked 86th overall. During his 15-season career with the Bills from 1985 to 1999, he played four consecutive Super Bowl games with the team and recorded the second highest total career Super Bowl receptions, and the third most combined Super Bowl receiving yards in NFL history. While with the Bills, he was also selected to the Pro Bowl for seven seasons from 1988 to 1994. Reed is particularly remembered amongst Bill fans for inciting one of the biggest comebacks in NFL history against the Houston Oilers when he caught three touchdowns in the second half of the game, allowing the Bills to overtake the game and win. In addition to his remarkable records, Reed also has the ninth highest total career receiving yards in NFL history, as well as the eleventh most career touchdown receptions.

Despite his successful years with the Bills, Reed made the decision to play with the Redskins for the 2000 season, before retiring the following year. In total, Reed played in 234 NFL games between 1985 and 2000, putting him at number 59 on the list of most games played by anyone in the NFL. Continuing to maintain a presence in the sport, Reed has worked on shows such as ESPN2’s First Take, in addition to occasionally appearing on NFL on Fox. To give back to the community, he has also established the Andre Reed Foundation to aid underprivileged kids in various communities.

To commemorate Reed’s extensive contribution to the sport of football, he was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2014, finally being recognized for his keynote speaking worth in the sport.
