Motivational Speaker Amy Purdy is a Paralympic snowboarder, New York Times bestselling author and the founder of her own non-profit for disabled snowboarders and skateboarders called Adaptive Action Sports. Amy is a double amputee. Amy is a role model. Amy is an inspiration to many who are facing some of life’s toughest challenges.

At just 19 years old, Amy was stricken with a severe case of Meningococcal Meningitis. Doctors had to amputate both her legs below the knee and she would later receive a kidney transplant from her father. Yet this life changing event didn’t discourage Amy; it fueled her. She began working as a spokesperson for the Challenged Athletes Foundation in addition to pursuing her ultimate dream of becoming a professional snowboarder. Amy is now recognized as the only double-amputee competing at the world class level.

Amy found her strength on the slopes and took home a bronze medal at the 2014 Paralympic Games in Sochi. Following her impressive performance, Amy was named one of ESPNW’s Impact 25, a list recognizing the most impactful female personalities in sports. That year she was also a featured athlete in ESPN’s annual body issue. Amy gained increased notoriety after she appeared on season 18 of Dancing With the Stars. Amy was the runner-up to ice dancer Meryl Davis that spring and an instant fan favorite on the show. In December of 2014 Amy published her memoir titled On MY Own Two Feet: From Losing My Legs To Learning the Dance of Life.

It was during this time Amy also began to make appearances as a motivational speaker at TEDxTalks and events across the country. In 2015, Johnson & Johnson hired Amy to be the featured keynote speaker at the 66th NATA Clinical Symposia & AT Expo in St. Louis, Missouri. She now makes regular appearances at expos, conferences and university forums around the world each year.

The International Olympic Committee has named Motivational Speaker Amy Purdy 1 of the top 15 most marketable para-athletes in the world. She has appeared in marketing campaigns for major companies including P&G, Kelloggs, Duracell and Coca-Cola. In 2015, she appeared in a riveting TV commercial for Toyota during Super Bowl XLIX.
